Kayla is a licensed occupational therapy practitioner in the state of California with a passion for supporting students and empowering school teams. She earned both her Master’s and Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and innovation in service delivery.
Kayla’s expertise in special education began in 2018 as a paraprofessional, giving her first-hand experience supporting students in the classroom. In her current role, she not only provides direct services to students but also mentors new clinicians and helps build the capacity of school-based teams.
With professional experience spanning both school-based and hospital-based practice, Kayla brings a unique perspective that integrates clinical rigor with practical, student-centered solutions. Her holistic approach ensures that students’ physical, social, and emotional needs are addressed in ways that improve access, participation, and long-term outcomes.
Kayla is committed to helping districts strengthen special education programs, support staff development, and ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive.

Laura is a seasoned educational leader with over 27 years of experience serving California schools as a teacher, program specialist, coordinator, district-level administrator and executive cabinet member. She holds a Master of Science in Special Education from National University, along with a Clear California Administrative Services Credential and a Clear Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate).
Her expertise spans curriculum and instruction, special education, pupil services, and leadership development. Known for her ability to turn challenges into opportunities, Laura has led district-wide reforms, strengthened compliance systems, and mentored countless administrators and service providers.
Grounded in a deep belief that every student deserves equitable access to high-quality education, Laura combines strategic leadership, legal knowledge, and hands-on experience to help schools and districts achieve sustainable success.
